London based indie rockers Faults have just released their debut album ‘Polar’ to critical acclaim. Multiple plays on BBC 6 Music, a Steve Lamacq endorsement and airtime in the States means 2017 looks like being a big year for the band. Think Doves with Johnny Marr on guitar –
accomplished songwriting – heavy on the atmospherics.

Raised by chimps and convent-educated, Hot Doggy first met at a disciplinary hearing of The Pipe Club of London, following contemporaneous but unrelated accusations of gross misconduct with a walnut lumberman.

Tortoise heads.

Every member is a classically-trained onanist, and it was their shared love of – and God-given talent for – this artform which inevitably led to the formation of the band.

Dipping into the kitty.

The band’s extensive list of eclectic musical influences includes Bernard Cribbins, Arthur Mullard, Bruce Forsyth and Jonathan & Darlene Edwards. Their style icons are Barry and, to a lesser extent, Paul Chuckle.

When they’re not busy making music, the gents like to relax by playing* darts**.

After a year of captivating live audiences, UK indie punk band Ideal Club released a 5 track EP this year, inspired by life in the second city.

Kingbreaker is Spinky, Gabriel, Tom and Mikko, a new London-based band of metalheads from four different countries and two different hemispheres, drawn together by the need to play music, the desire to do something a little different, to create, to perform, to headbang, to rock.

Kingbreaker’s music began as a living room collaboration between Australian bassist Tom, and Portuguese guitarist Gabriel in 2013. They had been playing together in London band Cities Will Fall for a few years prior, and conceived of a new project during the terminal stages of Cities’ unfortunate demise.

Their many subsequent riff-packed, groovy jams were fruitful, and the results were funneled into arrangements sufficient to pique the interest of Finnish drummer Mikko, and Spinky, a vocalist from Hertfordshire and fellow member of Gabriel’s in The Mariana Hollow, who both joined in 2014.

Mikko’s precision, power, and rhythmic song-craft, together with Spinky’s truly unique and versatile voice, and evocative, enthralling lyrics and melodies, elevated the arrangements into songs distinct from and far beyond what Gabriel and Tom had first imagined. This new level of creativity and collaboration propelled Kingbreaker’s songwriting forward, and by summer 2015 they’d completed ten songs that would become their debut album.

Recorded and engineered by Jamie Dodd at Hackney’s Flesh & Bone Studios, To the Fire is an explosive, thunderous first effort, that energetically thrusts and bounces the listener along on an exploration of chugging riffs, venomous solos, crashing rhythms, and powerful, memorable choruses. It’s a journey that shifts with ease and grace from heaviness and aggression, to introspection and frailty. From darkness to colour. From beauty to ugliness and back again. And it will always, always leave you wanting more.

mothercanyouhearme are a female duo of best friends from London. They combine heartfelt lyrics with trashy guitars and garage rock-type drums to create a unique mix of melodic punk, indie and alternative rock.

Despite there being only two of them, the girls have a very big live sound as they use extra amps and effects pedals to give the illusion of having more than just the one guitar, meaning they can match the presence of a band with twice as many members.

Their self-released debut EP ‘WINTER’ has gained attention from BBC introducing, who have broadcast one of the tracks- I’m Still Here- on their prestigious London show.

The girls write and record all of their music from home as they “like to be involved in the whole process of creating a song” and are part of the DIY punk community, meaning they self release their music, and create all of their own artwork, music and recordings.

The Hellfire Club are an up and coming Brighton based rock band established late 2015.

A hard hitting three piece, these guys are about the live shows, “We wanna inject some of what’s been missing back into real Rock”.

The boys have already made their mark on the scene with ‘riffs you may need gum shields for’ and a blistering set to boot, these boys are certainly a band to watch out for in 2016.
